Rural Youth Educator

Work in rural school districts at middle and high schools to provide educational presentations to youth on intimate partner violence, teen dating violence and healthy relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide “Healthy Relationships” presentations in middle and high school classroom settings in rural school districts
  • Maintain excellent communication with school personnel, Womenspace staff, volunteers, and rural community partners
  • Maintain open communication with other community agencies that provide “Healthy Relationships” curriculum in Lane County to prevent overlap and neglect of vital areas
  • Assist in training and supervising staff and volunteers in presenting “Healthy Relationships” curriculum in schools
  • Be aware of and adjust current curriculum to reflect changes in the field regarding evidence-based practices and education standards
  • Compile statistical data for agency records and grant reporting
  • Appropriately manage confidential information and paperwork including youth artwork, statistics, and disclosures of abuse
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
