Take Back the Streets Bike Ride and Community Event

Where: The bike ride begins at New Columbia’s Bike Repair Hub. The Community Event starts at 2pm at Columbia Park.

·           A robust and powerful line up of guest speakers from ex-gang members, leaders in non-profits, youth, poets, educators and politicians. We will also welcome  the general public’s voice to share and dialogue.
·           We are inviting organizations representing health, gang prevention, after school programming for youth, transition services, policy and advocacy for people incarcerated.

·         We are hiring businesses owned by communities of color to provide food, musical entertainment and photography.

·         Friends of Trees is collaborating with us to support tree planting/naming in remembrance of those who have lost someone to violence.

·         Intisar Abioto from Black Portlanders will be taking pictures.

·         Kid friendly activities will be provided.

·         Healthy barbecue will be offered for $5 a plate. All proceeds will benefit Stop the Violence Foundation and P.I.L. Reunions.
